Location

Le Moulin de Douzy is situated in the South-west of France; in the wonderful nature of the Charente, close to the picturesque village of Lesterps at approximately 630 km of the French-Belgian border. Street names or house numbers do not exist here.

By car

A From the north via Belgium, northern France, the Netherlands, Germany
B From the south via Bordeaux or from the north via Poitiers across Confolens
C From the south via Toulouse; Clermont Ferrand; Lyon; Luxembourg, Italy, Switzerland across Lyon.

In order to use the GPS, you need the following co-ordinates:

By train

It is very simple to reach the railway stations in Angouleme or Poitiers from all points of the compass. Starting from Lille with the TGV, it only takes you three hours to get to Poitiers. We can pick you up there.
If you would like to rent a car, we can offer you bargain prices in cooperation with Europcar. The car will be at your disposal at the railway station.

A From the north via Belgium, northern France, the Netherlands, Germany

No matter which northern part you come from, the shortest and cheapest way is through Paris. Nevertheless, you do have to take Paris’ rush hours into account.  The motorway you have to follow, is already indicated from Paris to Bordeaux.

• A10: Paris => Orléans
• A71: Orléans => Bourges. Do not drive into Bourges. Take exit 5 near Vierzon and follow the A20 motorway in the direction of Chateauroux/ Limoges.
• A20: Chateauroux => Limoges. Pass Chateauroux and follow the A20 motorway in the direction of Limoges.
• Exit 23 Bellac. On the A20 motorway in the direction of Limoges, take exit 23 and drive to Bellac on the N145 motorway.
• Traverse Bellac in the direction of Confolens on the D951 road.
• Arriving at Mézières-sur-Issoire, you take the D48 road in the direction of Bussière-Boffy.

B From the south via Bordeaux or from the north via Poitiers across Confolens

1 As far as Confolens, starting from Bordeaux

• Take the A20 motorway in the direction of Saintes.
• After about 20 minutes, take exit 39 in the direction of Angouleme through the N10 E606 motorway.
• Immediately after Angouleme, take the N141 motorway in the direction of Limoges.
• From the town of La Rochefoucauld, follow Confolens along the D951 secondary road.

 2 As far as Confolens, starting from Poitier:

• On the A10 motorway, just before Poitiers, take exit 29 in the direction of Limoges onto the N417 motorway.
• Immediately after this exit, you take the right exit to the village of Gençay.
• From Gençay, you follow the indicator in the direction of Confolens on the D741-D948 road.

3 Starting from Confolens up to our domain:

• Whilst driving into Confolens, you cross the river Vienne.
• At the crossroads immediately after the bridge, you turn left and drive through the city centre of Confolens in the direction of Saint-Germain de Confolens.
• Immediately outside Confolens, you drive across a second bridge over the river Goire and immediately after the bridge you turn right in the direction of Lesterps.
• Arriving at Lesterps, you twice follow the indicator in the direction of St. Christophe on the D82 road.
• After about three kilometres, you turn left in the direction of Bussière-Boffy on the D166 road, which is signposted on the next direction indicator.

After a kilometre, you reach our domain. (Back)

C From the south via Toulouse; Clermont Ferrand; Lyon; Luxembourg, Italy, Switzerland across Lyon.

• Via the A20 motorway you arrive at Limoges.
• Near Limoges, take exit 28 in the direction of Saint-Junien on the N 141 motorway.
• On the N141 motorway near Saint-Junien, turn right in the direction of Bellac on the D675 road.
• In the town of Le Chêne Pignier, turn left onto the D82 road in the direction of St. Christophe-Confolens.
• 2 km outside of St. Christophe, turn right in the direction of Bussière-Boffy on the N166 road and after a kilometre you reach our domain. (Back)
