Welcome to our dream!

At the border of the picturesque medieval town Lesterps, situated in a wonderful valley along the river Marchadeine, we are gladly to welcome you in our dream ‘Le Moulin de Douzy’.
Surrounded by an astonishing nature you imagine yourself in a haven of peace, where nothing is obligatory and everything is possible. You immediately feel at home, just marvellous!

Our domain

We can retrieve the origin of the domain Le moulin de Douzy by the wonderful 18th century water mill.

In the garden you can enjoy an elaborate breakfast or meal or you can relax fully in a hammock. The hot climate, the peace and quiet tempts you to go and live outside. For the children there is a spacious garden with a playground, the river and the natural environment to romp to one’s heart’s content.

The river Marchadaine, which drives the mill, flows on the domain. It is a slow-flowing river, which is screened totally to make sure the children cannot fall into the water. At places where the river flows through our garden, its width varies from 2 to 5 metres and its depth from 20 centimetres to 1 metre. This is perfect to play in the water at summery temperatures.  

The cows and little calves in the grasslands get enough space as well to live it up. Moreover, this marvellous pasture gives us the chance to hold a children’s farm.

Centrally situated in Poitou Charente in southwest France at 650 kilometres from the Belgian border, you can really find everything for a perfect holiday. The beautiful environment - far away from all the commotion - and the hot climate form the ideal combination to relax and to enjoy the peace to its fullest. In combination with numerous activities, this holiday can charm everyone.
